"THE BEGINNING OF THE END " ACT 3

IN ACT THREE , NORA'S PLOT GETS EXPOSED BECAUSE KROGSTAD LEFT THE LETTER IN THE BOX. ALSO THERE IS A TWIST! MRS. LINDE WENT TO KROGSTAD'S HOUSE FOR NORA BUT INSTEAD OF CONVINCING KROGSTAD TO TAKE THE LETTER BACK SHE GETS BACK WITH HIM. KROGSTAD WAS WILLING TO TAKE THE LETTER OUT OF THE MAILBOX BUT MRS LINDE PERSUADED HIM NOT TO BECAUSE IT WAS FOR NORA'S OWN GOOD.
LATER ON IN THE ACT , WHEN TORVALD AND NORA CAME HOME FROM THE TARANTELLA (WHICH IS NORAS FAVORITE DANCE), HE OPENED UP THE BOX AND TOOK OUT ALL HIS LETTERS WHILE NORA WAS GETTING READY FOR BED. THERE WAS THE LETTER SITTING IN HIS HANDS LIKE A ROTTING TIMBER IN THE WILDERNESS. HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW IT WAS COMING. HE OPEN IT AND YELLED AND SCREAMED AT NORA. GOING ON AND ON ABOUT HOW HE MESSED UP HIS CAREER. THIS SHOWS THAT HELMERS CHARACTER'S MORAL IS LOW, AND IT'S LIKE HE DOESNT HAVE ANY RESPECT FOR NORA. HE SAYS THINGS THAT MAKE HIM SEEM VERY CONTROLLING AS IF HE WANTS TO LIVE NORAS' LIFE AND HIS AT THE SAME TIME. THEN ABOUT FIVE MINUTES LATER KROGSTAD LEAVES A LETTER AT THE HOUSE. THE MAID GIVES IT TO TORVALD AND HE READS IT. LIKE THE LITTLE SLIMY GUY THAT HE IS, STARTS TO GET ALL LOVEY DOVEY WITH NORA AGAIN GOING ON AND ON ABOUT HOW HIS LIFE IS SAVED AND THAT HE FORGIVES NORA WHEN JUST FIVE MINUTES AGO HE WAS YELLING AT NORA BECAUSE HE MESSED IT UP. IN MY OPINION HE IS THE MOST HORRIBLE MAN AND HIS DEMINOR IS JUST DISGUSTING, IT'S NOT A WAY A MAN SHOULD ACT.
TOWARDS THE END OF THE ACT THEY HAD A VERY PROGRESSIVE DISSUCSSION ABOUT THEIR MARRIAGE.WHILE TALKING NORA LETS OUT ALL HER FEELINGS. I COMMEND NORA FOR THIS BECAUSE SHE IS A GOOD WIFE, TORVALD IS TOO BLIND TO SEE THAT AND HE TREATS HER LIKE A LITTLE DOLL IN A HOUSE( HENCE THE TITLE IN THE PLAY).SHE TELLS HIM THAT SHE DOESNT LOVE HIM ANYMORE AND HE GETS A LITTLE UPTIGHT. FINALLY AT THE END NORA SAYS GOODBYE AND SHE WISHES HE COULD CHANGE. THEN HE SAYS WHAT CAN I DO TO CHANGE IT AND SHE SAYS I WISH WE COULD HAVE A REAL MARRIAGE AND THEN WALKS OUT OF HOUSE WHILE HELMER IS UPSTAIRS WITH HIS HANDS DUG IN HIS FACE.
THIS PLAY FOR ME WAS VERY GRATIFYING. IT SHOWS HOW SOME GUYS ARE JUST TOTAL IDIOTS AND CANT SEE BEHIND THE CLOUDINESS OF HAVING A WOMEN TO LOVE. IM HAPPY THAT NORA ENDED IT THE WAY SHE DID, IF I WAS HER I DONT KNOW HOW SHE PUT UP WITH IT FOR EIGHT YEARS. ALL IN ALL TORVALD IS A DUMBY FOR TREATING HER BAD AND LETTING HER WALK OUT OF HIS LIFE, BECAUSE SHE TRIED HER BEST TO DO EVERYTHING IN HER WILL POWER TO PLEASE HIM.

"The Plot Thickens " Act 2

In act 1 Nora was portrayed as a devious little child that only loves money and macaroons and forged her father signature. Act 2 Is a whole new ballgame. Nora Starts to panic even more! The thought of her family drowned in lies and forgeries, she thinks this cant possibly be happening to her. Nora isn't ratted out, but Torvald finds out about the trip she planned to Italy for him. Also Dr. rank, which is a family friend, finds out he has consumption of the spine.
Halfway through the act Krogstad threatens to tell torvald she forged a signature if Nora doesn't tell Torvald to not fire Krogstad. Basically blackmailing Nora. Later on in the act krogstad gets fired and He places a letter in their mailbox so that torvald can get it. Nora then sends Mrs. Linde over to Krogstads to tell him to take back the letter. Nora is becoming more at unease with herself and is Quoted "Seven hours till midnight. Then twenty four hours till midnight tomorrow. Then the tarantella will be over.......Thirty one hours to live" I think that this could foreshadow some critical in the play signifying the climax of the story.

"The Analysis" Act 1

After reading act one, alot of conclusions came to me. Nora is a devious,but a young minded women. At the beggining of the play it is christmas eve. Toravald and Nora are haing a disagreement because she is greedy for money. Even tho she has ravishing looks, she also knows how to get what she wants out of others. Nora loves to eats macaroons but torvald wants her not to. Her husband helmer , who worked in a bank was the man of the house. He always had money and was always willing to share it with his "skylark".
Nora did some very bad things in act 1. She forged a signature of her fathers name to save torvalds life. Mrs. Linde and nora get into a little argument and nora starts to get a lil paranoia. I think nora will soon see that her actions will come back to haunt her and she will start to have alot more anxiety in her life because of this.

First Blog

Here is my first blog: Henrik Ibsen was a very astute man. Born in skien, a very a tiny coastal town south of Norway. His Father,Knud Ibsen was a very fortunate merchant, although he was a merchant his financial changed the family social positions. As a child Henrik always dreamed of becoming an artist. His mother was a devoted painter and LOVED theatre. His education was put to a halt at age 15 because of poverty.
He then was apprenticed at a local pharmacy and then in 1850 he moved to Oslo which was known as Christiana. he was an avid writer while making about 150 plays he was known worldwide. Henrik continued writing until a stroke in 1900, his marriage was pitiful and undesirable. he had a few relationships but never the same, One famous quote SAYS""A woman cannot be herself in the society of the present day, which is an exclusively masculine society, with laws framed by men and with judicial system that judges feminine conduct from a masculine point of view." which came from his workshop in 1912. He was Born march 20, 1828 and died may 23, 1906
